While addressing the media, Pakistan's captain Babar Azam revealed that opener Shaheen Afridi is currently in good shape and will be available for selection against Ireland.
When India and Pakistan meet in a high-voltage Super 12 game at the T20 World Cup on October 23, everyone will be wondering whether speedster Shaheen Afridi is fit for play. The pacer missed out during Asia Cups as well as seven match series due to injury but has done his rehabilitation workout back home with London being where he'll need some more time before deciding if its ready enough yet again.
Pakistan captain Babar Azam attended the Captains' Call organised by ICC and while speaking to the media, he gave an update on the match-fitness of Shaheen.
"Shaheen has come back, Fakhar also returned. For the first game we have six days and two practice games as well to make sure everything goes smoothly." said Babar while speaking about his expectations on how much effort will be needed from each player in order for them all play their part successfully"
The Pakistani cricket team has a solid fast-bowling lineup, with Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf leading the way. "We take pride in producing quality bowlers," said coach Babar Azizi about his country's selection process for this World Cup."
Pakistan missed out on playing together during previous games but now that they've had time to experiment more thoroughly - between two matches against Australia earlier this month alone there were seven different combinations used by both sides.
"I think it's going to be an interesting match," said Babar. "Whenever you play against India, there is always a lot of intensity in the game." He continued: We try our best on field and enjoy playing high-quality cricket so that we can give fans something great.
